Newmark Group (Nasdaq: NMRK), a global commercial real estate advisory and services firm, has appointed Shanting Wong as Director and Head of Research, Singapore, strengthening its research and analytics capabilities across Asia-Pacific.
Based in Singapore, Wong will lead the firm’s local research function, overseeing market intelligence across office leasing, industrial, capital markets and residential sectors. Her role focuses on delivering data-driven insights and forward-looking analysis to support client strategy and advisory execution.
Chris Carver, Executive Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific, Valuation & Advisory, said Singapore remains a critical market within the region, and that research plays a central role in advising clients navigating increasingly complex conditions.
18 years of Asia-Pacific research experience
Wong brings more than 18 years of experience across Singapore and the Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining Newmark, she served as Senior Vice President and Head of Research and Market Intelligence at ERA Singapore.

She previously held senior research and consultancy roles at JLL and Knight Frank, advising institutional and corporate clients on market strategy, occupier trends, due diligence and retail consultancy assignments across the region.
Wong said the growing importance of data, analytics and local market insight in real estate decision-making makes this a significant moment for research-led advisory services in Asia-Pacific.
The appointment forms part of a broader global expansion of Newmark’s research capabilities. The firm has recently strengthened research leadership across major US property sectors including capital markets, retail and occupier services. It has also established research teams in France and Korea.
According to the company, these investments are aimed at delivering consistent, data-driven intelligence at both local and global levels, supporting clients as they navigate increasingly complex real estate decisions.
