Strong debut for Newport Residences as first city-centre launch of 2026

City Developments (CDL), a leading global real estate company based in Singapore, has launched sales for Newport Residences, an ultra-luxury freehold development on Anson Road within Singapore’s Core Central Region (CCR). The launch witnessed a strong response with 57% of units sold during the opening weekend.

The 246-unit development spans levels 23 to 45 of the 215m-tall Newport Plaza, a mixed-use landmark that also houses Grade A offices, branded serviced apartments, and food and beverage (F&B) outlets. The tower also includes a one-of-a-kind Super Penthouse on level 45, covering 12,960ft2 with dedicated lift access, two private car park lots, and panoramic city and sea views.

Buyer profile and market response

According to CDL, 82% of buyers are Singaporeans, while 15% are permanent residents from Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and other countries. One, two, and three-bedroom units were particularly popular.

Prime location and accessibility

Strategically located at the junction of the CBD and the future Greater Southern Waterfront district, Newport Residences is within walking distance of three MRT stations, including Tanjong Pagar, with direct access planned to the upcoming Prince Edward Road MRT via a link bridge. Residents will enjoy convenient access to key city attractions including Marina Bay Sands, Suntec City, Orchard Road, Clarke Quay, VivoCity, National Gallery Singapore, Esplanade and Gardens by the Bay.

Japanese architecture firm Nikken Sekkei in collaboration with ADDP Architects designed the development as a “vertical town”, the development offers extensive recreational facilities across six levels, including four lifestyle gardens, a residential apartment facilities deck, and the Roof Garden (Newport Sky), featuring the Sky Club, Sky Lounge, Sky Pavilion, Sky Gourmet with BBQ grill, and four swimming pools: Sky Pool, Sky Spa Pool, Kids’ Pool, and Indoor Jet Pool.

Apartments feature marble flooring in living and dining areas, engineered timber flooring in bedrooms, Haiku fans, designer kitchen appliances from Liebherr and V-Zug, premium bathroom fittings from DornBracht and Duravit, and smart home technology for remote control of lighting, air conditioning, doorbells, digital locks, and smoke detectors. Larger units include ovens with steamers, wine chillers, dishwashers, and freestanding long baths. On-site concierge services are provided through Premier Residential Services.
