Stratus®, a US-based multidisciplinary engineering, architecture and consulting firm, has acquired PVEDI, a national architecture, engineering and planning practice specialising in residential, hospitality and commercial projects.
The acquisition significantly expands Stratus’ design and engineering capabilities while strengthening its national footprint across key US markets.
The deal brings more than 160 professionals into Stratus’ network, including civil, structural and mechanical engineers, architects, landscape architects, surveyors, geologists and interior designers. The addition strengthens Stratus’ expertise in land development, environmental services, structural engineering and mid- to high-rise residential design.
PVEDI is known for its integrated approach to architecture, engineering and planning across residential, hospitality, leisure and commercial projects. The firm also introduces new specialisations to Stratus’ service portfolio, including landscape architecture and geotechnical engineering.
Stratus said the combination will enable the firm to deliver more comprehensive, multidisciplinary solutions for complex projects while creating new opportunities for collaboration across both organisations.
“This partnership brings together two highly compatible firms that share a vision for delivering exceptional client service,” said Brandon Enochs, Chief Executive Officer of Stratus. “Uniting our expertise allows us to provide more comprehensive solutions and create new opportunities for both our clients and teams.”
Deal strengthens national presence across key US markets

The transaction significantly expands Stratus’ geographic reach through PVEDI’s seven offices located in Pittsburgh, New York City, Hudson Valley, Hartford, Houston, Austin and San Francisco.
According to PVEDI leadership, joining Stratus will enhance the firm’s ability to deliver integrated solutions across increasingly complex development and infrastructure projects.
“Joining Stratus strengthens our ability to deliver even more value to our clients through expanded multidisciplinary expertise,” said James M. Venture, Chief Executive Officer of PVEDI. “By combining our teams, we can bring broader technical depth and more integrated solutions to complex projects.”
Stratus’ leadership said the acquisition aligns with its long-term strategy to build a diversified national platform capable of supporting development across multiple sectors.
The integration of PVEDI further reinforces Stratus’ position as a nationwide provider of engineering, architecture and consulting services supporting public- and private-sector development projects.
The PVEDI transaction marks the third acquisition announced by Stratus this year. Earlier this year, the firm revealed plans to acquire Kestrel Engineering Group, an industrial process facilities engineering and design company. It also announced the acquisition of Stewart, a North Carolina-based provider of engineering, planning, landscape architecture, surveying and design services.
